Problem: No Ringback

Ringback is the call progress indication that a caller hears whilst the number they called is ringing. Several problems can affect this function, including incompatibility between the call progress indication in interconnected systems (e.g. PSTN and VoIP) and the audio path through the VoIP systems not being "cut through" until the call is connected.

Impact

User cannot tell if the call is connecting and may hang up thinking the call attempt has failed.

Resolution

Examine configuration of Gateways and Firewall Routers.
